Ricky Lynn Patterson, 61, was held at Staton Correctional Facility in Elmore, Alabama. In the summer of 2020 he went to the hospital for a scheduled procedure, developed complications, and tested positive for COVID-19 while there. He died in the hospital on July 15, 2020. The Alabama Department of Corrections reported his death as related to COVID-19.
