Ricky Hampton
Ricky Hampton, 55, was held at the Tonopah jail in Nye County, Nevada, when he died on November 13, 2013. His wife, Mary, described him as a friendly person whom everyone liked. The Nye County Sheriff's Office said he was found hanging in his cell and called the death an apparent suicide, and that staff tried CPR but could not revive him. Sheriff Tony DeMeo said he had been checked on in line with policy and that the death happened between checks, and the office was still investigating when the article ran.
