Rick Bartel
Rick Bartel, a 51-year-old man from Peru, Indiana, died on October 28, 2022, while held at the Howard County Jail in Kokomo. The jail's staff were said to have aided him after he was found unconscious in his cell, and he was pronounced dead at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. The Howard County Coroner, Dr. Steven J. Seele, said an autopsy found no sign of foul play and attributed the death to bilateral pulmonary emboli caused by deep vein thrombosis.
