Died in prison
Rick Allen DeVries
Rick Allen DeVries, 61, died on September 17, 2025, at University of Iowa Health Care while serving a state prison sentence, according to the Iowa Department of Corrections. The department said he was pronounced dead early that Wednesday morning at the hospital's Hawkins Drive campus. The department has not given a cause or manner of death.
