Richard Tabler
Richard Tabler, 46, was executed by the State of Texas by lethal injection of pentobarbital at the Huntsville Unit in Huntsville on February 13, 2025, according to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and The Texas Tribune. In his final statement he apologized and asked the families of the people connected to his case for forgiveness, and some family members of those victims attended. In the days before the execution, his lawyers and the ACLU argued that he had changed over the years. The ACLU said he had become a mentor and a source of support to people around him, and the Tribune reported that he led a ministry on death row. He thanked his family, his legal team and the staff on death row for their support.
