Richard Leyva
Richard Leyva, 37, was held at the California Correctional Center in Susanville. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said he was stabbed on the prison yard by two other people held there, and that staff used pepper spray and grenades to stop the attack. He died while being taken by helicopter to a hospital in the area. A homicide investigation is underway.
