Richard L. Canada, 39, of Gary, died on June 9, 2021, at the Westville Correctional Facility in Westville, Indiana, a state prison. The Indiana Department of Correction spokeswoman, Annie Goeller, said the department had declined to release details of the circumstances. Indiana State Police are leading the investigation, and officials said the death was not being investigated as a homicide. The manner and cause of death remain pending.
