Richard Dale Stokley
Richard Dale Stokley, 60, was executed by lethal injection on December 5, 2012, at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Florence in Florence, Arizona. In a handwritten letter to the state clemency board, he wrote that he thought his life was worth saving, said he was sorry for the victims and their families, and said he did not want anyone to go through a clemency process he saw as pointless. He wrote, "I reckon I know how to die, and if it's my time, I'll go without fanfare." The U.S. Supreme Court denied his final appeals and declined to block the execution, which was Arizona's 34th since 1992.
