Richard Allen Gardner
Richard Allen Gardner, 53, died on October 17, 2026, in the prison infirmary at Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem, where he was receiving hospice care, the Oregon Department of Corrections said. The department said the Oregon State Police were notified, as they are for all in-custody deaths, and that the State Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. The department said his next of kin has been notified.
