Ricardo Ortiz

Ricardo Ortiz, 46, was executed by lethal injection at the Huntsville Unit in Huntsville, Texas, on January 29, 2009, according to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Before he died he thanked his family for their support, and he had no personal witnesses in the death chamber, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. About two hours before he was scheduled to die, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected his appeal for federal funds for legal help with a clemency request.
