Ricardo Carlos Ramirez
Ricardo Carlos Ramirez, 43, died on August 30, 2022, at the Lansing Correctional Facility in Lansing, Kansas, where he was held. According to the Kansas Department of Corrections, staff found him unresponsive in his cell on a Tuesday morning, and he was pronounced dead a short time later. Leavenworth County Prosecuting Attorney Todd Thompson said in a press release that Ramirez took his own life. The department said the cause of death is pending an independent autopsy and that its preliminary assessment found no link to COVID-19. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death.
