Rhonda Gay Newsome
Rhonda Newsome, 50, of Palestine, Texas, died on June 15, 2018, while held at the Anderson County Jail, where she had been for about three months. Sources close to her family said she had several medical conditions, took multiple prescribed medications, and had received psychiatric care. The Texas Rangers were investigating her death, and the autopsy and coroner's report were pending at the time of reporting. The Palestine Herald-Press reported that it had no information on staff checks made on her before she died.
