Reynolds
Reynolds was held at the Colorado penitentiary at Canon City, and in January 1900 officers were bringing him back there. When they reached Canon City, a mob of several hundred men took him from them and hanged him from a telegraph pole just outside the prison walls. The Morning News reported that guides sent by the warden were overpowered by surprise before they could resist. A second newspaper report of the same killing gives no date, no names of those involved, and no account of how the officers responded.
