Reuben Roberson
Reuben Roberson was held in the Miller County jail when, according to an unnamed report from Bainbridge, masked men overpowered the guard, entered his cell and shot him to death. A later Albany account said he was one of three men taken from the jail and killed. The Albany account is the only report that places him among those taken from the jail.
Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. An unnamed Bainbridge report says masked men overpowered the guard and shot him in his cell, a claim the paper itself calls unconfirmed.
