Renee Harold
Renee Harold, 42, of New Orleans, was remembered by her daughter, Desiree Harold, who said, "She loved us. She loved her children." Harold was found unresponsive in her unit at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna on the morning of Friday, January 20, 2023, and was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead the next morning. An autopsy ruled out trauma, and the coroner's office said the cause of death remains undetermined while additional testing is pending. The family says Harold had a history of mental illness and has many unanswered questions about her death. The Sheriff's Office said detectives did not suspect foul play.
