Rena Rae Flaherty was 45. She was held at the City of Kent Corrections Facility from April 19, 2025, and a corrections officer found her dead in a holding cell on April 22. The King County Medical Examiner's Office attributed her death to dehydration, ketoacidosis and opiate withdrawal, and classified the manner as natural in a May 14 report. The Kent Reporter described it as the second jail death in Kent in 2025.
