Died in prison
Reginald Eugene Childers Jr.
Reginald Eugene Childers Jr., 42, died on March 3, 2025, while held at the Anchorage Correctional Complex. He was found dead in his cell, according to the Alaska Beacon, and the Alaska State Troopers announced the death as a suicide. The Alaska Beacon reported the announcement came the day before a legislative hearing on in-custody deaths, and the Juneau Independent later listed him among people the Department of Corrections reported dying in its custody in 2025.
