Reddy McDonald

Reddy McDonald was held in the jail at Sidney, Nebraska. According to a dispatch from Sidney reprinted in the Juniata Sentinel and Republican, vigilantes took him from the jail early in the morning. The dispatch reported that they hanged him from a tree in the courthouse yard on April 12, 1881. The same dispatch reported that two other prisoners were expected to be lynched.

Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A dispatch from Sidney, Neb. reported that vigilantes took Reddy McDonald from the jail and hanged him from a tree in the courthouse yard.
