Rebecca Vasquez, 30, was held at the Bexar County Jail in San Antonio, Texas, when the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said she attempted suicide in her cell on August 29, 2022. She was taken to a hospital intensive care unit, released on a personal recognizance bond and then on compassionate release, and died at the hospital on September 7, 2022. The sheriff's office, internal affairs, a public integrity unit and the Precinct 2 Constable's Office are investigating her death, and the cause and manner have not been determined in the reports.
