Rebecca Faircloth
Rebecca Faircloth, 62, was a wife whose husband shared a letter she wrote in June 2023 to the prosecuting attorney, describing her lupus, a related infection, joint and skin problems, and sleep apnea. Her husband said she was not allowed the breathing machine she needed at night while she was held at the Duval County jail, and that her health needs were not met in custody. A medical emergency was reported at the jail in early August 2023, and according to The Florida Trib she was found unresponsive on August 7, 2023.
Cause of death, as reported: Died of illness (neglect alleged). Her husband says she was denied the breathing machine she needed at night, despite her lupus, a related infection and sleep apnea described in a letter she wrote in June.
