Ray Matos
Ray Matos, 63, died in April 2021 while held at Dade Correctional Institution, a Florida state prison. One account gives the date of death as April 19 and another as April 18, 2021. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said he was stabbed in the head with a pen, and that another person held at the prison has been charged in the killing. The Florida Department of Corrections recorded the manner of death as homicide, and a correctional officer was said to have found him bleeding from the head in his cell.
