Raul Zamora
Raul Zamora, a man who relied on supplemental oxygen for COPD emphysema, died on November 16, 2024, after being held at the Marion County Jail in Ocala, Florida. According to the Ocala Gazette, he took off his oxygen to shower, had a medical episode, and was found unresponsive after staff returned him to the infirmary. He was taken to AdventHealth Ocala, where he was pronounced dead. The Marion County Sheriff's Office internal investigation said the cause could not initially be determined and that it was still under review.
