Raul Paredez
Raul Paredez, a machinist from Conroe who liked to whistle and could fix anything, died on April 21, 2023 while held at the Montgomery County Jail in Texas. His sister, Delia Paredez Obregon, remembered him as a happy man who kept busy painting the house, building a gazebo and giving her rides. The jail's custodial death report says he was found hanging in his cell after being moved to another cell block and housed alone at his own request, and that staff cut him down and gave medical aid before he was pronounced dead. The cause and manner of death remain pending an autopsy, and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is investigating with help from the Texas Rangers.
