Rashawn Pleas
Rashawn Pleas, 29, of Rockford, Illinois, died while held at the Sedgwick County Jail in Kansas on January 20, 2025. The sheriff's office said he was found unresponsive on the floor of his cell in Pod 6 shortly after 10 p.m., and he was pronounced dead at about 10:52 p.m. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the sheriff's investigations division are looking into the death. The reporting noted no obvious signs of trauma, and autopsy and toxicology results were still pending.
