QUARLES

QUARLES was held in the jail in Leavenworth, Kansas Territory, when a mob took them from the jail and hanged them. The mob also took a man named BAINES from the jail and hanged him alongside QUARLES. An 1857 newspaper report gives hanging as the cause of death, attributed to the mob. The report gives no date for the killings.
