Priscilla Slater
Priscilla Slater, 37, was taken into custody by Harper Woods police on June 9, 2020, after a reported shooting at the Parkcrest Inn, and was found dead in a police holding cell the next day. Her attorney, Geoffrey Fieger, says she was denied medical care for hours and that police concealed and destroyed evidence. Her sister said the family does not believe her death was accidental and wanted to know how she died. The Wayne County Medical Examiner and the Michigan State Police attributed her death to a heart attack from natural causes, and the prosecutor declined to file charges. Officers deny wrongdoing through their union, and two officers were fired.
