Preston Anderson
Preston Anderson was held in the jail at Clarksville, Tennessee, in early March 1878. According to The Weekly Democratic Statesman, a large group of armed men forced the jailer to hand over the keys, took Anderson from the jail, and the next morning his body was found hanging from a tree.
