Executed
Pio G. Vann
Vann was hanged at Summerville, Georgia, on November 8, 1889, according to The Hope Pioneer, which printed the account a week later. A Los Angeles Daily Herald telegram reported the hanging and said Vann had tried to take their own life by cutting their throat before the execution. That telegram garbles the first name and gives no date, so the November 8 date rests on the Hope Pioneer report.
