Phillip M. Lee
Phillip M. Lee, 49, died on June 6, 2024, in his cell at Pendleton Correctional Facility in Indiana, where he was being held pretrial. Staff found him alone and unresponsive shortly after midnight and tried to give medical care, but he was pronounced dead. Richmond police officials reportedly said he killed himself while suffering mental distress, and his attorney said he had severe mental health problems and that the facility was not doing enough to help him. Toxicology and autopsy results are pending, and state police say foul play is not suspected.
