Phillip Meadows died on June 9, 2017, while held at the Roanoke City Jail in Roanoke, Virginia. According to the Roanoke City Sheriff's Office, he was reported having trouble breathing just before 2 a.m., and deputies found him unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at 2:33 a.m., and his body was sent to the Medical Examiner's office, where the cause of death was still under investigation when the reports were published.
