Philip Perry, 49, died early on February 3, 2026, while held at the Downtown Detention Center in Denver, Colorado. According to the Denver sheriff's department, he was found unresponsive in a housing unit around 3:30 a.m., and lifesaving efforts by a medical team did not succeed. The sheriff's department said the Denver Police Department would investigate, as it does with any death in custody, and it had not released a cause or manner of death.
