Peter Waesen, 40, of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, was held at a jail in Norwood, Massachusetts. A news report said he died on the night of February 3, 1913, after setting fire to his mattress and crawling beneath it, and described his death as a suicide. His body was held while officials waited to hear from a brother in Duncan, New York.
