Peter Villalobos

27 years old · died June 20, 2025 · Riverside County, California

Peter Villalobos, 27, was described by his mother, Olivia Villalobos, as someone who would never hurt anyone and who just wanted to come home; she said he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia about ten years earlier. He died on June 20, 2025, after an incident at a McDonald's in Riverside, where police said officers took him from a restroom and he was taken to a hospital, where police said he suffered a medical emergency. Video is said to show officers pushing his head into a patrol car and punching him before he fell, and the Riverside Police Department's account of the incident is disputed by the video as described in reporting. The cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy, and an outside agency is reviewing the department's use of force.

Cause of death, as reported: Cause not yet determined. Riverside police say he suffered a medical emergency at the hospital, and an autopsy is pending while an outside agency reviews the department's use of force.

Reported by: Riverside Police Department (the agency that held him). The only account of how this person died comes from the agency that held him.
