Peter Stamps

Peter Stamps, a Black man, was held at the jail at Douglassville, Georgia, when a mob took him from the jail and killed him, according to a brief item in The Cleveland Gazette reprinted from other newspapers. The item gives no date for the killing. The same item is the only account available here of what happened to him.

Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A brief reprinted newspaper item says a mob took Peter Stamps from the jail at Douglassville, Georgia, and killed him.
