Peter Schmidt

Peter Schmidt was hanged at Clayton, Missouri, in February 1897, according to a year-end chronology of the year's major events published in the Mitchell Capital. A later chronology in the Hot Springs Weekly Star, published in January 1898, records the same hanging at Clayton that month. Neither source describes his life, his family, the facility that held him, or the circumstances of the execution.
