Pedro Sanchez
Pedro Sanchez, 38, was held at the Monroe County Jail in Rochester, New York. His sister, Luz Sanchez, described him as very friendly, caring and loving, someone who befriended anyone. Court documents say he was attacked by two other people held at the jail on a Sunday morning, with one starting the fight while the other held him as the beating continued, and that he was taken to Rochester General Hospital, returned to the jail, then transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he died. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says he died of blunt force trauma with severe injuries to his spleen, and his family said they learned of the charges against the two men from the media and were not told what had happened.
