Pedro Medina
Former warden Ron McAndrew described Pedro Medina's childhood family as a little gang of boys who found ways to get food and begged tourists for money. Medina was executed in the electric chair at Florida State Prison. McAndrew told The Sun that flames came from Medina's head and his body burned, and that he felt he could not stop it. McAndrew said the execution went wrong, and that Florida's switch to lethal injection followed the incident, which was the day he decided he could not carry out executions again.
Cause of death, as reported: Executed by the state. Former warden Ron McAndrew says the execution was botched: flames came from Medina's head and his body burned in the electric chair.
