Paul Thompson
Paul Thompson, a 41-year-old Black man, died in February 2022 while held at the Arlington County Detention Facility in Virginia. The NAACP wrote to the Justice Department that men who died at the jail, Thompson among them, were denied adequate medical and mental health care. Arlington police and the Northern Virginia Critical Incident Response Team investigated the death, and the NAACP Arlington Branch later called for a Justice Department investigation of the detention center.
