Paul Sparkman Jr., 31, died in August 2022 while held at the Potter County jail in Pennsylvania, and the death is recorded as a suicide. He had been at the jail for fewer than five days when he died. PennLive reported in November 2023 that the death gave Potter County the highest death rate in the state that year, given the county's small jail population.
