Paul Saldavar
Paul Saldavar, 62, died on September 27, 2026, after being held at the San Diego Central Jail. The Sheriff's Office said he became disoriented in a communal room and was taken to the jail medical clinic, where his condition worsened, and that paramedics then took him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead that evening. Other incarcerated people reportedly alerted deputies that he was in medical distress hours before he died, and the Sheriff's Homicide Unit has been notified. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death, which remain pending.
