Paul Howard Gillett, 64, of Santa Barbara, died on October 21, 2023, while held at the Main Jail in Santa Barbara County. The sheriff's office said he was found unresponsive in his single-occupancy cell with a linen ligature around his neck, and it describes the death as an apparent suicide.
