Paul Eugene Gilly
Paul Gilly, 88, died on July 6, 2021, while in the custody of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. The Department said he died of natural causes after being taken to a hospital near the prison where he was held. Sources differ on the facility: the Observer-Reporter named SCI-Albion in Erie County, while a state reporting dashboard placed the death in Crawford County. His family knew of the death soon after it happened, but it did not become public until a Washington County prosecutor learned of it while responding to a clemency request.
