Paul Andrew Lockett
Paul Andrew Lockett, 37, died on August 1, 2025, at the Spartanburg County Detention Center in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, where he was being held. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said deputies used a Taser on him while removing his handcuffs and placing him in a holding cell, and that he then had a medical emergency. He was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 12:59 p.m. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, the sheriff's office and the coroner are investigating, and an autopsy was scheduled; the cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.
