Patrick Nash, 42, was a father of one who worked as a mechanic, and his father remembers him as someone with a passion for helping people. He died on Sept. 5, 2023, after being held at the Ramsey County Jail in St. Paul, where he was booked that afternoon. The family says officials told them he overdosed in his cell, and says he did not use drugs. The sheriff's office said the death is under investigation.
