Patrick Kanney
Patrick Kanney, 26, of Pennsauken, New Jersey, was held at Lancaster County Prison in Pennsylvania. He was found hanging in a locked bathroom in the prison's medical assessment area on April 21, 2014, and died two days later on April 23. The county's internal investigation, as reported by Lancaster Newspapers, classed the death as a suicide, and a union representative, Steven Mullen, says about 18 minutes passed before guards reached him. Two guards were fired after the investigation, though the county says the suicide itself was not the reason for the firings.
