Pasquale
Pasquale, an American Indian man, was held at the Missoula County jail when he was hanged in the jail yard on December 19, 1890, one of four men put to death that day. According to Will Cave's account, read to the Sons and Daughters of Montana Pioneers and printed in 1925, invited guests and other onlookers watched from the jail grounds. A 1925 Poplar Standard article and a 1942 Herald-News retrospective both say the sheriff of Missoula County carried out the hangings.
