Pablo Serrano-Vitorino, a 43-year-old man from Mexico, died on April 9, 2019, while held at a St. Louis jail. A city spokesman, Koran Addo, said he was found alone and unresponsive in his cell at 2:02 a.m. and pronounced dead at a hospital about an hour later. A Montgomery County, Missouri, sheriff's office account gives a later time, saying he was pronounced dead shortly after 3 a.m., and that authorities are investigating the death. Reports say that days before he died he had tried to harm himself and was placed on suicide watch. The cause and manner of his death remain under investigation.
