Ozell Burch
Ozell Burch was 17 and was held at the Augusta Youth Development Center in Georgia. His grandmother, Sheila Mims, wrote on Facebook that she would miss him terribly and that they had been each other's ride or die. On May 26, 2024, he collapsed while playing basketball in the gym, was taken by ambulance to Wellstar Medical Center, and was pronounced dead there, according to the coroner, Mark Bowen. The Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice said there was no indication of foul play and asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to handle the investigation, and an autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
