Oscar Wilkie III
Oscar Wilkie III was 26. After he was hit by a car while riding a bike, he was prescribed painkillers in high school and later struggled with addiction. He was going through withdrawal when he died on January 10, 2018, while held at the Ward County Jail in Minot. His cellmate said he began vomiting and was later heard choking, and officers found him unresponsive before he was taken to Trinity Hospital in Minot, where he died. His family is pursuing a wrongful death lawsuit, and his sister said it is not clear what killed him.
