Omar Orane
Omar Orane, 40, was held at Kern Valley State Prison in Delano, California. According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, another person held at the prison attacked him with a weapon made inside the facility on July 30, 2020. Staff stopped the attack and took him to the prison's medical area and then to an outside hospital, where he was pronounced dead that afternoon. Prison officials are investigating the death as a homicide.
